The views are decidedly mixed on this off-Strip, Brazilian-themed, all-suiter; fans dig the "fun", "24/7 carnival atmosphere", the lively clubs, the buffet and the "huge" accommodations, but foes frown over a "once shining star that's now a black hole", citing "marginal dining", "large rooms passed off as suites" and the "cheesy New Orleans theme" that "needs some work."

You can find everything you need within the hotel/casino.
The price of little things like coffee & internet access.

Nice hotel with a great room price, but any little extras like coffee, or holding a package, bring the real price of the room to something much higher.

Room was very large.
Older facility, short on service.

This is not a 4 star property. Perhaps if you were able to upgrade to the newer tower, it would be acceptable. We were offered an upgrade. That was unacceptable considering it was double what we already paid. Beyond that, the Rio isn't bad. Rooms are large and somewhat clean. They were also very quiet. The casino area is in need of a makeover, though. ...read more
